CHARACTER NAME: Nie Huaisang
CHARACTER SERIES: Chén Qíng Lìng: This is a modern au for the character, reincarnated from his ancient self as portrayed in the drama. I have a passing knowledge of the novel and only a very vague knowledge of the other formats.

Nie Huaisang grew up as an only child of a mother who did the best she could with what she had. Needless to say, that wasn't much. He lost her while he was in the middle of his final year of high school and only by virtue of the help of his mother's friends was he able to finish out the year and graduate. After that it was easy enough to become a part of the burlesque community; first as hired help behind the bar and then as the hottest female performer, Shuixian.

Now in his mid-20's, Nie Huaisang is as comfortable in heels and full make up as he is in jeans and a shirt. Gender is a malleable construct as far as he's concerned. His tastes are as varied as his mood which leaves some thinking he's a bit of a prima donna.

From time to time, his dreams are filled with a life he can only vaguely remember upon waking. What images that do stick with him, he captures on paper and adds to his growing portfolio.
